Fun fact: this is my second most used keyboard. It has zero buttons.

So how this works: It's a USB keyboard. It's also a serial port.

I have a program that can send it a message on the serial port and it'll push keys.

See, this thing shouldn't be needed. There's supposed to be APIs to let you do this entirely in software: But ever since Windows 10, they haven't been reliable. You can use a method and it'll work 95% of the time but then it turns out the 5% of the time it doesn't work includes the one game/emulator you need to hack.

But a USB keyboard? A USB keyboard always works. No matter what program you're targeting. So I use this device for all my keyboard emulation.

Like just today I was hacking on Super Princess Peach for the DS. I have a script that injects new text into the ROM, and I need to press some keys in the emulator to make it reload a savestate then push some buttons to get to the next screen. I could do it with the native key APIs... or I could plug in my serial-keyboard and just tell it to push "F1" "X" and it'll 100% work.

Once the results are done, I'll multiply 255 to the decimal version of the percentage, and see what color we make!!

I checked. I did the math. I converted it into hexadecimal.

It's literally Tumblr Blue.

Wait. I just looked at what Xkit calls "old blue".

The hex for that is #36465d. It's darker, but that is to be expected because the poll restricted the possible values to only the color space where the sum of all 3 colors adds up to 255, so that removes a variable. You expect the saturation and value to be different just because of that - the saturation and value are 42% and 36% respectively for Tumblr Blue, while for this color they're 49% and 45%. It's a bit lighter blue, with a tiiiiny bit more saturation.

If you just look at the hue angle, however, that's completely unconstrained.
